HOW TO CHECK AND MAINTAIN COMPUTER KEYBOARD

 

Computer keyboard works as very important in using a computer, laptop or personal computer. If a computer keyboard is not properly maintained, it possibly you're work of a day will be affected. And your budget will go also because you need to buy a BrandNew keyboard. 

In this case this could be prevented when you perform the maintenance of your keyboard. And remove all the possible objects that possibly may cause to damage. Possibly the dust build-up and staple wire that will cause to damage the flex circuit.

PROCEDURE HOW TO DISMANTLE YOUR KEYBOARD

Tools Needed:

1. Philip screwdriver or star screw
2. Paint brush

HOW TO DISMANTLE THE KEYBOARD

1. At the back of your keyboard there are 8 or 12 screws that holding both the top and bottom case.
2. Use your screwdriver, remove all the screws. Make sure that your remove the entire screws.
3. Once you remove it, remove the top cover slowly, be aware of the rubber dome to lost one of it. So, of the rubber dome is not paste in the flex circuit.
4. After you remove the top cover start to remove the dust buildup.
5. After cleaning the entire part, check the flex circuit if there are cut part of the circuit line.
6. If there are cut of the line of the circuit or a partial burn, use a pencil then connect the circuit line.
7. Clean the control board also and check the signal wire using the multimeter.
8. After the entire parts and remove those foreign objects inside the keyboard. Assemble again and start to check by connecting the keyboard to the computer.

If the keyboard will not work again after you clean. It means that your keyboard is totally damage and need to replace. The flex circuit have no replacement that you can buy locally. But if only the wire signal you can repair it by replacing the wire.
